Ready…Break!

Technically my break started Friday.  And even though classes aren’t taking place, my break isn’t much of a break - in a good way!  This is the best and by far the busiest spring break I’ve had.

I spent the first (also known as this) weekend of it in my favorite place, New York City, doing one of my favorite things, going to shows.  I also did some heavy duty shopping, hit up the Natural History Museum and many of my favorite restaurants, and of course, Manhattan’s little piece of paradise, Magnolia Bakery.  I’ll admit that there are better bakeries than Magnolia, and my mom’s cake is just as good as their cupcakes, but in the heat of the moment, there’s something about those cupcakes that I can’t refuse.  As ridiculous as it sounds, I can’t.

So for now I’m back in Maine for a brief 24 hours.  Then it’s back to Boston until Thursday for various musical activities (studio all day Wednesday, and spending Thursday evening in the pit at Mary Poppins), back to Maine Thursday night only to drive back to Boston Friday afternoon to bring my parents to the airport, and then back up to Maine for the weekend to see a few friends.  In between all my driving and musical activities, I need to finish my scholarship application, study for a test, start and finish a book, write a book review for said book, and clean.

Even with everything going on, a week free of classes is appreciated.  I love this semester and I’m trying to make it last as long as humanly possible, but it’s nice to not have to worry about a few things - even if only for a brief period of time.
